You have me somewhat stumped but I assume you are refering to the "Little
Faces" traveling exhibition? (http://www.rit.edu/~andpph/davidhazy.html)
If that is not so then you will have to give me a hint as to what the
List of Exhibitors refers to!!
If, on the other hand, you would like to bring the Little Faces traveling show
to your class that could be arranged. As you know there is no charge for this
and all you are asked to do is to forward the photos to the next destination.
Now, the problem is that the I am not sure it will be possible to make it in
the Fall as the prints are booked just about every month through March I
believe ... but January is not spoken for. They will be in Argentina in
December and in Panama in February. You can have them in January if you wish.
The other possibility is that maybe the two groups that asked for October and
November may not be able to deal with them as planned and then they would be
available ... on a "cancellation" basis.
The other alternative I am trying to resist is that of making a second set.
That would be sort of "cheating" ... but maybe not. I thought that the "charm"
of the traveling prints is that they will be going from place to place getting
worn and altered by the handling and so on ... they would carry a "history" of
their travels along with them!! I mean I can always make another set as one
could with traditional prints (except these would be easier to make!!) ...
hmmmmm ... what do you think?

Great! I will put you down for January but will keep you posted in case Idecide
to make a second set or if they become available earlier. How did you find this
project on the web anyway?

Well, one thing I can "offer" and that is a guest exhibition of your student's
photographs in a web gallery. It is one thing to have photos in your own
school's website and another to have them in a web gallery attached if ever so
feebly to the largest school of photography in the country if not the world!

Wow! That really sounds great! Last year I had some really talented
students who came out with some fantastic images...I would really be

The way it works is that you assemble a set of 12 to 15 photographs that you
want included in the gallery. Provide me with as much or as little text about
the school, your class and whatever else is pertinent and appropriate and I
install them in that gallery for a time ... this may be short (but necer less
than a few weeks) or long (depending on whether anyone else wants to
participate ... the UofChicago school photos have been "up" for about a month
now). Visitors can send you comments/observations about the photos directly or
the gallery contents are also sometimes discussed by members of a photo related
mail list called the PhotoForum. Or, since they are on the web they could even
be discussed on the Ilford Educators Forum ... or any other suitable place.
Once the "show" comes down the image files on my end get discarded. I do not
archive or copy or store them any longer than the time they are up ... to avoid
the perception that we in any way copy them or whatever.
Oh, the photographs should be prepared so that they are about 50Kb in
compressed size. JPEG medium quality compression starting with a 5x7 inch
screen resolution image ... or about a 500 to 600Kb original size.
Further, they may be sent attached to a single email or to several. They should
not go to my personal email address but rather to another one that I use te
receive images. The address is: RITphoto@rit.edu and the messages should have
the word GALLERY in the subject line of the mail. In the body of the message
you can provide as much or as little info about the photographs as you wish. I
know some schools are more restricitve than others as to what may go on the web
and so on.
I think that actually my own personal webpage may be offlimits to some schools.
I believe it is so even with my wife's school. She can't place a link on her
school website leading to mine. She teaches math in a local middle school.
hmmmm .... is that enough to go on? Let me know if I can assist further.
BTW, every year for the last few years we (the faculty of my school) have
organized a workshop for teachers (free to those that apply early!!) and we've
hosted many interesting and interested visitors. You will find sort of a
announcement about the last one (which may give you ideas about the next one!!)

The prints can stay with you for a while. They will go from you to their next
destination which will be either Sam Houston College or Greenfield High School
... I will let you know as the time gets near. Once you get them if you can

Glad to hear they raised some eyebrows! :)
A second set is "opening" in Sao Paulo tomorrow and a third one went to
Argentina where one of the Argentine photo magazines is doing a story on
the project (got a cover!!!) - no pay but NEAT!
As for other projects - I do have a "guest" gallery on the web set up to
host photographs by student groups from anywhere. I don't think that web
galleries are all that unusual anymore but, for what it is worth, this one
is at least a little associated with the School of Photographic Arts and
Sciences here and maybe that would lend some novelty anyway to any group
of images shown there. Right now I am working with a teacher from
Los Angeles, the Pilgrim School, and his student's photos/images will be
shown next here. You can check this out at:

Right now there is an "open" exhibit by students from right here but I've
had schools from as far away as Russia show a set of photos there!
