A short duration (1/10,000 second) flash was used to capture this image of the spray pattern associated with a common sneeze. The flash was triggered by the sound generated with the early stages of the sneeze and electronically delayed just long enough to allow the spray cloud to develop before firing. This gives medaical researchers a good idea of the potential risks associated by people being exposed to sneezes of possibly contagious individuals. |
